Your pet's immunizations must be current when it arrives for boarding. This includes vaccination against rabies as well as other vaccines to protect your pet against a wide variety of other diseases. Your animal friend should also be free of internal and external parasites, just as exposure to any contagious diseases must be avoided during the period before boarding. Please don't feed your pet for at least 4 hours before you bring it in for boarding. This will minimize the chances of an upset stomach as this short-term change in its life occurs. Let us know about any special requirements your pet has or any other kind of information that will help us make its stay more pleasant.
Your friend will be glad to see you again, of course. Even so, don't reward its loyalty by immediately feeding it. Instead, wait a few hours until your pet has settled down. When you do feed it, don't overdo it.
A dog, for example, may pant a great deal after you pick it up, but don't try to calm it by giving it plenty of water. This can cause just as many problems as immediate food if your pet is overly excited. Instead, give it some ice cubes and wait until dinnertime to provide a regular supply of food and water.
